Every Player will need a USA Hockey Number before signing up for Learn To Play. This membership includes a USA Hockey monthly magazine and insurance coverage for your skater.

About the Program
The Greensboro Youth Hockey Association Learn to Play Program offers first-time hockey players the chance to get on the rink in full hockey equipment and learn the basics. They will receive instruction on the basics of hockey as well as learn how to skate properly. Classes are open to boys and girls ages 4-16.
All students must complete Greensboro Ice House's Learn To Skate Basic 1-2 classes prior to enrolling. Full gear is required and includes helmet with full-face shield, elbow pads, hockey pants, shin pads, skates, gloves and stick.
The GYHA Learn to Play Hockey Program is dedicated to making the game of hockey fun for everyone who plays it. By learning and developing the appropriate fundamental skills and knowledge of the game, every player will gain the confidence to be able to compete and enjoy the game at every age and skill level.

* = Loaner Equipment consists of helmet, chest protector, elbow pads, shin guards, pants, hockey socks, bag and skates. Parents responsible for stick, neck guard (optional), and groin protector/Velcro short protector – Ask about our equipment donation program for equipment available to help you get started-see the Greensboro Pro Shop for your purchasing needs.
** = 6 and under USA Hockey memberships are FREE, others are $47 for a year (includes a monthly USA Hockey magazine and on ice insurance coverage) visit usahockey.com to sign up and get your USA Hockey number prior to registering for Learn to Play Hockey.
GYHA has a loaner program where you can borrow gear, we require a $100 deposit by check for this program. Once the gear is returned your check will be returned to you.
