Carolina Hurricanes First Goal

Hurricanes First Goal Program

The Hurricanes First Goal Program will be back in Summer 2024!

Registration opens May 1st at 12:01 AM!

Program Dates: TBD

The initiative provides first-time participants (boys and girls) aged 5-10 with hockey equipment as well as the opportunity to enjoy instructional hockey sessions.

In preparation for First Goal and the introduction to hockey skills, we strongly recommend completing a Learn to Skate program at any of the local rinks.

Locations:
All groups are co-ed except the Girls Only group at Invisalign Arena.
Polar Ice Wake Forest
Polar Ice Raleigh
Polar Ice Garner
Polar Ice Cary
Invisalign Arena at Wake Competition Center
Hillsborough Sportsplex
Greensboro Ice House
Cleland Ice Rink, Ft. Bragg

The weekly Learn-to-Play sessions take place in July and August over a six-week span. Each participant will receive six hours of on-ice training, two tickets to a Hurricanes home game (date choices TBD), a Hurricanes Hockey Kids Club membership, and a graduation certificate. Once the program is complete, families are given next-step opportunities for their new hockey players to continue learning the game at the facility of their choice!
Sessions are 1 hour each week.

*If you cannot make a session at the location you signed up for, you can attend a makeup session at any location at your convenience. Please notify the coaches when you arrive for check-in.

Participants are introduced to the game of hockey by Hurricanes alumni and receive brand-new Bauer equipment, Hurricanes branded Jersey, that you KEEP, all fitted by Pure Hockey, including:

- Helmet

- Shoulder Pads

- Elbow Pads

- Shin Pads

- Gloves

- Pants
